The Heart of Camp Ministry
Camp counselors are the backbone of Camp Otyokwah. You'll live with campers, lead Bible studies, facilitate activities, and walk alongside young people as they encounter Christ.
Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
- Lead daily Bible studies for your cabin group
- Disciple campers one-on-one
- Model authentic Christian faith
- Pray with and for your campers
Daily Care
- Supervise campers 24/7
- Ensure camper safety and well-being
- Help with homesickness and conflicts
- Create a positive cabin culture
Program Support
- Lead recreation and activities
- Participate in all camp programming
- Support fellow staff members
- Maintain energy and enthusiasm
Requirements
- Age 18+ (19+ preferred)
- Committed follower of Jesus Christ
- Experience working with youth
- First Aid/CPR certified (or willing to obtain)
- Available for full summer season
- References from church/ministry leaders
